How to Choose an International School in Türkiye

A parent's checklist for evaluating international schools in Türkiye — accreditation, curriculum, faculty, language of instruction, and community.

How to Choose an International School in Türkiye

Not every school that uses the word 'international' truly is one. When you're choosing a school for your child in Türkiye, look past marketing and check for five things: official Turkish Ministry of Education accreditation, a genuinely international curriculum, an experienced multilingual faculty, small class sizes, and a diverse student community.

Accreditation matters because it determines whether the certificate your child earns is officially recognized — both in Türkiye and abroad. VIX International School is fully accredited by the Turkish Ministry of Education, so students receive certificates that are valid for university applications worldwide.

The second question every parent should ask is: 'Who will actually teach my child?' At VIX, our faculty comes from multiple countries, with experience in international curricula, and works in classes small enough to know every student by name.

Finally, visit. A single school tour will tell you more than a hundred brochures. See the classrooms in action, meet the teachers, and watch how children interact at break time.
